My opinion:
Pieter Aspe is reportedly the most popular author of detective fiction in Flanders, to his credit with 25 novels. In addition, the publisher notes, I learned also that Mr. Aspe was nominated for three awards to them. Hercules Poirot, which he won in 2001. As for his book, they relate very successful in France and Italy, and the Belgian television even attempted to filming 10 of his novels, of which a serial crime. This year in Poland, published by Videograf II, released the first of his literary achievements detective story - "Square revenge."

Bruges, a beautiful and charming city, located in Belgium. Thanks to its t medieval and Renaissance monuments and a network of canals, has gained the nickname "the Flemish Venice. " It was at this charming spot, I found myself when I read "Quadrant for revenge." During the night watchman, patrolling the streets of the city, two police officers discovered that someone has broken into the jewelry store Ghislain Degroofa, the son of an influential millionaire, Ludovica Degroofa. It turns out that nothing was stolen, but the entire jewelry collection was dissolved in aqua regia. The chief of police assigns the investigation commissioner Pieter Van Inowi, giving him gently to understand that it is not necessary that the perpetrator was caught, and specifically depends Ludovicowi Degroofowi this to maintain as much secrecy during the investigation. Why Degroof does not want the whole incident became aware of public opinion? Do you fear that may come to light some dark issues of his past? Or is it here only a war between politicians? Here is someone who drowned on their way to power?

For me all the pleasure of a good thriller comes from the fact that by the end of I'm not sure who is behind all these iniquitous acts that were committed and what were the motives of this person. I like to surprise. I also like to slowly discover all the pieces and fit them together. Here, unfortunately, practically at the beginning of the book I found out who is responsible for the burglary and the subsequent tragic events. Not only that, in the middle of reading it was clear to me what is the motive of these crimes. Just to clarify some puzzles I had to wait until the final pages of a book. For me it was a major minus for that item. I missed it just such a mood secrecy and ignorance. I missed it by surprise, the unexpected return of shares. I lacked the suspense and so much in this topic.

Despite these early "discovered katy" reading "Quadrant for revenge," provided me with the positive reading experience. All thanks to great heroes, created by Mr. Aspe. For a long time I had no opportunity to follow the fate of so interesting as outlined. True, niewyidealizowani, with flaws, bad habits. It was the characters, their manners, conduct, the dialogues between them made that this book was interesting and fun to read.

Another windfall, especially for me, it was possible to observe the interrogation, which took place in the early 90's. I could learn how to more or less at the time looked like police procedures, collecting and verifying evidence, without access to the Internet, databases, DNA. Such insight into the matter and comparing this with the fact how it looks now it was an interesting experience for me.

not wrapped in cotton - not found here fast paced action, more plot was predictable, I missed such a strong accent of surprise. But the book was in itself a "something" that made the other pages read by practically the same, and well-portrayed characters urozmaicili me the whole reading.

my first encounter with the work Mr Pieter Aspe not No reading was accompanied by fireworks, "achy and Italy," but I think in the future, reach for the next book with Commissioner Van INEM in the lead role. I wonder if and how his character will evolve and whether the author has introduced into his next book a little more puzzling elements.

My Rating: 4 / 6
